The reporter learned from Urumqi Diwobao Airport Customs that on the 14th, a flight carrying 50 tons of cross-border e-commerce export goods flew from Urumqi to London. This is the first cargo route from Xinjiang to London.
With the booming development of cross-border e-commerce in Urumqi, the volume of cross-border e-commerce business at Urumqi Air Port has steadily increased. This provides sufficient cargo supply guarantee for airlines to open cargo routes from Urumqi to London.
Feng Liang, the business manager of Xinjiang Wanshengtong Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd., said that the opening of the Urumqi London freight route provides logistics support for enterprises to explore the European market. This direct flight route avoids stopping at other airports and can significantly reduce operating costs for businesses.
Urumqi Diwobao Airport Customs has optimized the supervision process of cargo flights, cross-border e-commerce goods, etc. to ensure the opening of new routes, effectively reducing flight stay time and improving the overall logistics efficiency of all cargo planes.
Zhao Beijing, the head of the Customs Supervision Department at Urumqi Diwobao Airport, stated that the opening of the Urumqi London freight route will further promote the close connection between key air transport nodes in Xinjiang, China and Europe, and provide more comprehensive and efficient commercial logistics services for economic and trade cooperation between the two sides.
As of now, Urumqi Airport has opened a total of 14 international cargo routes, including 7 European routes. (Chen Rose)
